I attended the world premiere of The Thinking Game at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 7, 2024 (thanks to Wing!). I knew almost nothing about this documentary beforehand; all I knew was that it focused on the CEO of Google DeepMind. As a Korean, I vividly remember the AlphaGo match against Lee Sedol in 2016, as do my parents, who are in their 50s and 60s. It's embarrassing to admit that, as a tech enthusiast, I had no idea this was the work of the DeepMind team until I watched the documentary. And the protein folding with AlphaFold? Oh my gosh, I was blown away by the brilliant scientists and their dedication to solving problems with AGI. It really got me thinking – this is what technology is for and should be about. Also, my one-line impression at the end: this documentary is excellent PR for Google.
